Mrs. Clark has been a great example for everyone; we never talked as much, but when we did, it was all
She’s a good teacher and a great example to people; she’s quiet, kind, and funny. As I said, I never really talked to her much, but she was always nice to me, and that mattered more than she probably knew. I understand that small things matter, She made a difference just by being a good teacher and a kind person. She showed me that you don’t have to say a lot to make someone feel okay. That’s why she’s a great teacher I always appreciate.
I would always walk into her class when lunch was about to start, and it was really fun for me to hang out with the other students and communicate with them. She made every spelling game fun for us and really easy for others to understand. She helps other students when they’re stuck on work. Not only that, but she treats everyone with respect and explains things in a way everyone can understand. She’s very respectful and kind with her words and actions. She has always been there for every student when they needed her. If someone was confused, she would explain things again without getting annoyed. She made sure everyone understood the work and didn’t make anyone feel embarrassed for needing help. When students were struggling, she stayed patient and supportive, which made it easier to try.
Mrs. Clark has been teaching for 16 years, 15 years at New Way and 1 year at a previous school. When she first started teaching, she had a lot to learn. Still, she had a mentor who taught her everything she needed to know. Her first year, she taught every subject, and that was a lot to plan for. Now, she specializes in one area, which is writing. It has allowed her to plan better, more thorough, and engaging lessons. Teaching has definitely gotten easier for Mrs. Clark over the years.
She found out about New Way on Craigslist. She also worked next door to New Way’s old campus before joining New Way. She would leave her old job every day and see Mrs. Buchanan directing traffic every afternoon. Not only that, but she also used to see Coach Jane with her PE classes in the park because they did not have a gym back then.
She always wanted to be a teacher for a few reasons. First, she always loved school, and she had great teachers who made learning fun for her. Second, she was inspired by her mom, who had a really tough childhood, and she would always tell Mrs. Clark that school was her safe place. Mrs. Clark’s mom would find a way to stay at school as long as possible just so she wouldn’t have to go home. This inspired Mrs. Clark to create a safe place for kids if they were experiencing a tough time. Lastly, she thinks she feels like there’s a lot of freedom in being a teacher: teachers have to follow a schedule, but they get to plan different things to do every day (projects, games, videos, etc.). This makes class more interesting and not the same every day. Planning gives them the chance to make learning fun for the students.
Besides being a teacher at school, she has hobbies. She loves to color mystery pictures while she watches a variety of shows. She loves to watch true-crime documentaries, thrillers, and occasionally ridiculous reality shows. Besides watching TV, she loves reading books, listening to podcasts, going on walks/ jogs, but mostly she spends her time with the ones she loves; Mr Clark, and their adorable pets, Reggae, their dog, and Shenzi and Gunner, their cats.
In the end, Ms. Clark is an amazing teacher who makes writing fun and great for future adults.
