Have you ever wanted to play basketball; maybe dunk on a friend? Well, now you can with the New Way intramural basketball tournament. In September of this year during the high school lunch period, The tournament which was made up of three teams Black, Red, and White.
During the basketball tournament, teams played their heart out, conducting an amazing opening match between Red and White which ended in a 26-31 win for the Red team, allowing them to face Black for a spot in the finals. Red and Black faced off in a clash for the ages in a semifinal match, While Red started hot they lost most of their momentum losing to Black 43-28 allowing Black to advance to the finals. White got a shot at revenge but fell short in a rematch vs red, losing 36-34, allowing Red to advance to the finals in a quarter-finals rematch vs Black.
However, Red got blown out, losing 35-16, allowing Black to win the
entire tournament. Even though the tournament has ended, the impact hasn’t. Sophomore Ruben Salazar, said, “You don’t win all the time’, but you can try!”
The tournament had its ups and downs, but everyone who participated had fun!
