Every other year, the high school visits Pali Institute, a mountainous camp in the San Bernardino Mountains in California. Students spend three days and two nights exploring the pine forests while building lasting memories and friendships that will be cherished forever.

We left around 5:30 to go to Pali and it probably took 6 hours by bus. When we arrived we went to our cabins to store our luggage, after we did that we went to the cafeteria. There were 8 girls in the cabin that shared bunk beds. The property was like something they would have in Oregon like lots of pine trees and a few deer so similar to Flagstaff.
Some of my favorite things at Pali were the water balloon activity, astrology, cooking quesadillas, the talent show, and seeing the animals too. I thought it was ok. I guess it wasn’t my favorite trip even though it was my first time there. Furthermore, it’s my first year at New Way, so I’m still trying to get used to it a little. So, I thought it was pretty fun even though I didn’t have my phone with me the whole time. But whatever, at least I was able to tag along and be able to meet new people there and some of the food was pretty good, not really my favorite. But it was pretty good; I’m sometimes picky on certain meals.

Some of the things that were my least favorite and not to complain by the way; were the uphill hike and the freezing. So I thought it was alright and I would potentially go again if I wanted to, but we’ll see what’s next year trip will be. Anyhow I wish I had my phone on me when I was there; even though some people think it’s good to not have them for a few days because we’re in nature and we can communicate with each other instead of texting.
