Artificial Intelligence has been something students have used for schoolwork many times. It has been used in tests, homework, and even assignments, but is it really that good a tool to use or not?

Most of the time, when a student sees something in school that they don’t or can’t understand, they just look up the answer with AI, and that gives them the complete answer in seconds. But sometimes, AI can give you false information. Students mostly use AI for subjects like Math because it can be a very hard subject for most students, and they think using AI is the only way they can pass, but if a teacher catches them using AI while working, they will get in big trouble and will fail the math assignment completely. 

Another class that students might probably cheat on is science because they have trouble understanding the subject, or if they are frustrated with the teacher. When students do this sort of thing in general, they don’t often think of the full consequences of their actions with what they are doing because they put themselves before others, and often don’t think of how others might feel if they gain an unfair advantage by using the wrong kind of tools to do well.

To some students, this feels beneficial for them, but it isn’t always that beneficial. If it is used for good reasons, like for non-school-related fun or for no exact reason, it is okay to use, but when it is used for things like school or cheating, it can be bad because it can get you in trouble, especially if you’re not actually doing the thing for school if you are using AI for it, and it can give you the wrong or confusing answers that could lower your grades in school.

If kids will not use AI at school most of the time or all the time at all, it will lead to many life lessons, including how to do the work yourself and to trust your own instincts with what you are doing. I should know, because I used AI before myself! Earlier in the year, when I first started Journalism, I made decisions to try and use AI for some of my articles, but it never really worked out, and I got in trouble, but after I thought a bit about what I was doing, I realized it wasn’t such a good idea to do so after all, and so, I chose to never do it again! I learned that it is better to rely on nobody and nothing but yourself so that you can feel solid on what you are doing, and so you can get a good grade on whatever it is you are doing. So please, never use AI for school and for cheating! Only use it for good reasons, like for fun, and when people say it’s okay to use!!
