New Way Academy is a school in Arizona that has helped students with learning disabilities since 1968. In fact, you are at New Way Academy learning, and if this is your first year here, it would be important to know what they do here.
As I said, New Way helps students with learning disabilities, which can include disabilities such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and many more than that are listed. New Way has 3 sets of grade levels when in school: Lower School for 3-6 grade, Junior High for 7-8 grade, and High School for 9-12. We also have lots of teachers who can help students improve, like the administration, the academic teachers, the counselors, the reading specialists, the speech therapists, and the occupational therapists.
New Way offers after-school clubs and sports for a little fun, like after care, Esports, Weight Training, and many more. Esports was are first championship that we have ever won. In fact, we have 9 high school sports teams and 4 junior high sports teams. For High School, we have flag football, tackle football, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, volleyball, Esports, theater, golf, and chess, and for Junior High, flag football, basketball, cheerleading, and soccer.
New Way does some events specific to our school as well, like Spirit Assemblies, Color Run, and the Fall Kick Off. Some of these events help us fundraise for our school. For the Spirit Assembly, we do many activities and try to entertain our school, and at the end, students are announced for the Student of the Month award. For the Color Run, we of course run, and as we run, we get splashed in color, and at the end, the students can use the colors and splash other students. Lastly, for the Fall Kick Off, we have kind of a party, it starts on a night in November, where we eat food, jump in a bounce house, or talk to anyone you know or want to know.
New Way is the school that does sports that other schools are probably not going to do, and we make students feel like they are welcome. We make the students and parents happy to see that they are really welcome at school. The bulldogs will never, ever, ever, give up!
