Recently, at New Way’s All School Pep-Rally, it surprised us all to receive such a generous donation.
$3500!
Who, What When, Where, How?
Our little short story starts with our Development Director- Mr Smith.
Mr. Smith had a connection with the Saguaros from his previous work experience.
Utilizing this educational asset, he began applying for a grant; shortly, he was in contact with a representative of the group- Jonah Joffe. It turns out that Mr. Joffe is a New Way Alumni!
What are the chances? A New Way Alumni, giving back to the community that raised him.
So, after a bit of networking, the Saguaros arranged the $3500 grant for New Way’s culinary arts class.
So… What are the Saguaros?
The Scottsdale Saguaros is a local philanthropic group of young men who raise millions of dollars to support Children’s Charities.
How do they do it?
Hosting local events like the famous Olympiad- an athletic competition involving local businesses to raise funds to provide for the valley.
What does this donation cover?
The donation takes the burden off the whole class, covering ALL GROCERY EXPENSES for the 2024-25 school year. This brings more to the table quite literally and increases the possibilities for the student’s cooking potential. Alongside this, the rest of the capital covers an air fryer, pot holders, worn-out silverware, and so much more.
This donation has expanded the horizons of the cooking team.
Thank you Saguaros!
