Before we talk about the new policy many people are confused about what a tariff is, myself included in the past, it’s ok to be. But before you read this article here is a quick definition: a tariff is a tax that is put on other countries items to help promote good in that specific country for an example of this Trump’s tariffs are meant to bring more jobs and products back to the United States.
Donald Trump has officially put tariffs on more than 50 countries. Which has caused the entire stock market to have a seizure. The overall goal of tariffs is to bring manufacturing back to the United States, having American companies sell American products in America. But this plan has come with many economic consequences, as other countries have also put tariffs on the United States in return. What can this mean for your money investments? Well, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it means that if you invested money then you most likely lost some or most of it. According to Donald Trump, tariffs will make the country rich. But most investors and common folks are very skeptical of Donald Trump’s plans for the country. According to Trump every country wants to negotiate with us, bringing the power back to American companies and keeping jobs inside the United States. But it’s not just the United States feeling the pain of tariffs, a lot of other countries, including the People’s Republic of China, Japan, and the European Union have reported economic losses in their economy.

Trump has stated that he has no plan to remove any tariffs on any country, but he has also stated that the tariffs won’t take our cars, but we take millions of their cars every year. Leading into this, tariffs will most likely stay for a while. But it’s not just the stock market that has been hit hard; the crypto market has arguably been hit harder as coins such as bitcoin are seeing rapid decreases, causing panic. But should investors be worried, in my opinion, no for right now as the tariffs effects can wither down with time which might lead to the stock market returning to pre tariff levels, but also the stock market has dipped in the past and recovered to full strength this might be no different from past times.
