On September 27, 2025, Minecraft fans all around the globe tuned into the new Minecraft Live, curious to see what Mojang had in store for us this time. I’m going to break this Minecraft Live down for you one block at a time. Now, without further ado, let’s get into it!
Now, a brief history. Minecraft Live has been around since 2013 under the name Minecraft Con, or later, Minecon. Minecon lasted until 2016, when it went digital as Minecon Earth. The name was later changed to the Minecraft Live we know today due to it’s name being confused with the now-discontinued mobile game (RIP) Minecraft Earth.
Now, onto The Copper Age. Mojang has added all sorts of stuff like copper tools and armor. All you really need to know about the armor and tools is that its class is between stone and wood (I think). Another thing they’ve added is bookshelves, which have surprisingly more content than new armor and weapons.
In Minecraft, bookshelves are more than what meets the eye, as we see in the 2025 Minecraft Live video. When not activated by a redstone signal, it’s a normal shelf. When you power it on, you can quickly swap your hotbar with its contents.
Finally, the main attraction, the star of the show: The Copper Golem. Originally, all it was designed to do was act cute and push buttons. Now, it organizes your chests for you and can turn into statues when oxidized!
