As the title says, brainrot HAS TO STOP. “But what IS brainrot?” I hear you saying to your computer screen like a perfectly sane individual.
Well, the main definition in the 2020s is an obsession with iPads and low-quality memes that often make less sense than normal memes. A big part of brainrot is also watching short videos which release huge bursts of dopamine at a time, which we’ll get to later. Here is one example of the comparison of brainrot versus a good meme:
Skibidi Toilet – Season 1 [FULL SCREEN]

VS
Master Chief teaches you how to change the oil on your 2006 …
For gen alphas, the Skibidi toilet video gave short, intense bursts of dopamine instead of a long, steady stream like anything else. The regular meme though, gave that long, steady stream.
“But how can I stop these young Gen Alphas’ lives from looking like this?”, you say? Actually do something… Like anything to get these young minds off the nonsense and onto meaningful content like reading an actual book, or watching actual YouTube videos instead of shorts.
Make sure they have good screen time limits. Interact more with them. Do whatever you can to stop these iPad kids from getting worse.
But this doesn’t just matter for the gen alphas, but also for the entire human race. This is also a potential biological problem. Biology 101: Human brains got bigger as they evolved into what we are today.
Now, imagine that going backwards. But how? One word: DE-EVOLUTION. We naturally evolve to get better at what we usually do. When you watch shorts, you slowly get accustomed to mindlessly scrolling content, therefore devolving to DOOMSCROLL.
If you want better for the newer generation, please read Johnathan Haidt’s book, The Anxious Generation. Also, try to prevent the spreading of brain rot and encourage kids to touch grass.
