Maine Police Officer Jon Luke Evan from Old Orchard Beach was Arrested by ICE
Jon Luke Evans, a Maine Police Officer, was arrested by the Immigration authorities and has calmly agreed to leave the United States, as it was confirmed by ICE. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested the Old Orchard Beach Police Department Restraint Officer Jon Luke Evans, of Jamaica, last month on July 25th, as part of the agency’s work to step up immigration enforcement. The officials within the town and the police department have said previously that he and federal authorities told them that Evans was legally allowed to work in the United States.

A delegate from ICE reached The Associated Press on Monday this week by phone and said that a judge granted voluntary departure for Jon Luke Evans and said that he could leave as soon as possible that day. The representative did not show any more information about Evan’s case. Evan’s arrest affected a dispute between the Old Orchard Beach officials and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Police Chief Elise Chard has confirmed that the Old Orchard Department was informed by the federal officers that Evans was legally allowed to work in the U.S., and so the town submitted the information to the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify organization before Jon Luke Evans’ employment. Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, accused the town of having “reckless reliance” on the department’s E-Verify program, despite the fact that it’s considered very reliable.
John Luke Evan was expected to acknowledge his illegal presence in the United States. Avoiding applications for any legal status, he also admitted that he was fully aware of his intentions and could financially exit to claim his voluntary departure. Evan was previously taken into custody in Biddeford, ME, last month on July 25th by ICE Enforcement with officers and Removal operations in Boston. On the authority of the Immigration Officials, they said that they arrested Evan’s with the agent with some tobacco, a bottle of alcohol, explosives, and a firearm, as it was confirmed that Jon Luke Evan’s

attempted to purchase a gun.
For some of you who don’t know what E-Verify well, it’s an online program that lets employers have access to investigate if employees can legally have a job in the United States. He was being held at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Burlington, Massachusetts. He was
previously transferred to the Wyatt Detention Center in Center Falls, Rhode Island, which was reported by the outlet. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities did not respond to any request or comment on any of the diversity. It wasn’t fully clear if Evan is going to be present in the attorney, and has left a message for them, but it wasn’t returned after that.
President Trump has commanded his administration to remove millions of undocumented immigrants as he is looking forward to fulfilling his campaign promise and wants to spread worldwide mass deportation of immigrants. This would include citizens who live in the United States without any legal status, visa, or green card, who were apprehended, and that would also provide immigrants with valid documentation. It was said

by the ICE authorities from last month in July that Jon Luke Evans has overstayed his illegal attempt to purchase a firearm and his visa. A report from Monday this week by WMTTW-TV about Evan’s agreement for voluntary departure said that he could peacefully leave the country, instead of being deported. Evan’s part in his hiring process, he had to go through a full background check, physical, and medical screenings, and law enforcement training.
The police department said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that he had qualified for his work permit. Immigration officials have been through increased inspection amid allegations of any wrongdoing, which has led the agency to the center of the national debate over immigration law. Many concerns have happened to be decreasing over the legality and for human impact of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) practice.
The town is fully aware of the report of Evan’s planning to leave the United States willingly, as it was confirmed by the chief of police. Evan is expected to pay his own way to peacefully leave the country’s interior under the voluntary departure order. Chard said in a statement that the town repeats its ongoing commitment to meeting federal laws and all state laws regarding employment, and he is looking forward to coming back to the United States in the future to get his job back. They won’t stop until they rely on the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form and the E-Verify database to be clear on anyone’s employment eligibility.
