The DC Police Chief Pamela Smith signed an executive order on Thursday, the 14th, which will allow the DC police officers to share some details about people not in their custody with the federal immigration enforcement agencies, such as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). As for the President of the United States, Trump continues his federal takeover of law enforcement in the nation’s capital

and seeks to put a stop to illegal immigration. That also aligns with providing information in situations like traffic stops, as the order allows the DC Police to assist federal law enforcement agencies with transporting detainees and personnel. However, the Investigation is required to go much further, while looking at other police and city authorities.
Nevertheless, the order cites DC law, and the police code of conduct continues to forbid officers from investigating through police databases only for a citizen’s immigration status, from asking any questions about the citizen’s immigration status to decide they have breached the civil immigration law, or to implement the purpose of civil immigration laws, and from arresting anybody only based on federal immigration warrants. The DC Police also cannot share any information about a citizen in the DC Police’s guardianship or permit them to allow the federal immigration enforcement

agents to question them.
While they’re under the President’s Executive order, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) services have recently been ordered to assist the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with the transportation of detainees and for traffic stops, as it was spoken by a DC Police spokesperson said in a statement to CNN. Today’s order was supposed to mean on, clarifying that it doesn’t change the MPD policy and district law. As CNN has reached out to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for a comment. The DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office has recently declined to comment on the chief executive’s command. Bowser’s has once proudly announced that the nation’s capital is a shrine city. It has shielded away from describing the city as such in the meantime; she treads very carefully among a second Trump presidency. This

year, In May, Muriel Bowser even suggested a repeal of the local law that forbids the city’s Department of Corrections from compromising with federal authorities, absent a judicial warrant or order issued by a federal judge. President Trump called on Thursday that the police chief’s move was “a great step.”
When a reporter about the executive order requested it and whether he would need it for other cities to do the same, to evade a federal takeover, President Trump said he had heard that this had just happened, saying that it is a great step if they’re doing that, and he thinks that this is going to happen in every country. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, on Thursday last week, sounded the president, calling the executive order “a game changer,” and encouraging other cities to follow suit. This is what New York City is expected to do. We require LA to do that, and Chicago to do that too, as it was reported on Fox News, they expect the other leaders to be more adult about this, and should start sharing this information on these deviants that they think shouldn’t be in our country in the first place and want to send them back home where they belong and to face serious consequences for their actions. According to the Justice Department has previously investigated whether the Washington, DC Police Department exploited data to make crime ratings to decrease, with 2 senior law enforcement officials confirming this on NBS News.
Later from last week, President Donald Trump commanded additional federal law enforcement officers to Washington, DC, to address a confrontation over crime in the city that was uncontrolled. Nevertheless, the city’s statistics show extreme violent crimes that have been dropping over the past 2 years after cresting back in 2023. Mr Trump increased his efforts from earlier this week by proclaiming a very serious crime emergency and federalizing DC’s police force.
